Gloucester County Habitat for Humanity believes that homeownership is nothing less than simple human dignity. Homeownership provides the social and financial foundation from which families can build their futures.
- Gloucester County Habitat for Humanity (GCHFH) receives as much donated money, materials and volunteer time as is possible.
- Houses are built and sold at cost. No profit is attached to the sale price.
- Homeowners make mortgage payments to GCHFH. This includes mortgage principal, property taxes and homeowners insurance. There is no interest charged on the mortgage.
- Mortgage payments received help GCHFH build more houses for low-income families.
- Must currently be living in substandard or inadequate housing.
- Must be low income based on regional income limits: www.nj.gov/dca/coah.
- Must demonstrate sufficient income to pay the Habitat mortgage.
- Must agree to credit and background check.
- Must agree to criminal check.
- Must commit to 400 hours of “Sweat Equity” working with GCHFH.
Friends and family can participate.
- Must attend a family selection committee meeting.
- Fill out the GCHFH Applicant Inquiry online and print and mail to the GCHFH.
- Call the GCHFH office to obtain the Applicant Inquiry (856-256-9600).
- Visit the Gloucester County store at Deptford Mall to obtain the Applicant Inquiry.
